It’s been a great year for CMS Made Simple. We’ve won the Packt Publishing award for best Open Source Software 2010, reached over a million downloads and seen a steady increase in the central community on the site. The level of affection designers, developers and users that work with CMSMS have for the project is very high and there has never been a better time to widen interest the project. To this end the CMSMS marketing team is looking for volunteers to join us and help get the project out to a wider audience. If you are a talented marketing individual then this CMS needs you! We are looking to find ‘can-do’ people for the following volunteer positions; Copywriters We’d like to get a couple of copywriters to help us with press releases and general copywriting. There are also some specific projects that we have in mind which will be revealed in more depth to the people that join us. If you can write copy in more than one language to help us with copy translations, that would be a plus. Newsletter Coordinator We will be launching the new monthly newsletter very soon. We are looking for a copywriter to help with both the copy for the newsletter and its coordination. US marketing assistant The current marketing team is based in mainland Europe and the UK, where CMSMS is very popular. We’d like to raise our presence a little more in the US and to this end having a marketeer based on US soil would be a plus. We’re an inclusive team and there will be plenty of opportunity to give input into marketing strategy and future methods of promoting CMS Made Simple. How long would you be needed for? Well because these are volunteer positions we appreciate that you can only give a certain amount of time, but we currently give between 4 – 6 hours a month. An hour or so of that would be the monthly marketing meeting in conference call / chat on Skype. Ok, so what’s in it for you? Well, you get to be associated with Award Winning software for a start! And we will recognize that officially with a new page on the main website under the ‘about us’ section, dedicated to the Marketing team. You’ll get the opportunity to have a small bio on there and a photo, which you will be free to use when chatting to your own clients as an example of what you do. You’ll get the inside track on what’s happening, often before the general public do. Plus of course you’ll be part of an international team that works tightly together, which may in itself generate work. Finally we are always on the lookout for those stand-out people to join the CMS Made Simple Dev team and you as marketing members will be first in the spotlight as opportunities come up.
